Ken Hunt says goodbye to commentary
Saturday 27th April has seen the last match report from Ken, who has been attending and commentating on Swindon Town games for several years and has provided commentary on Swindon games in all three divisions of the football league and also the one season they were in the Premiership.
He’s seen several players for Swindon and during his time as commentator the best players in Ken’s opinion has to be Glen Hoddle and Ossie Ardiles He’s met some real characters too.
He has had several highs commentating on successful promotion seasons and a few lows which include loosing to non-league teams. One of the losses that sticks in Ken’s memory is loosing to non-league Stevenage Borough on a very cold Saturday afternoon. It was so cold in fact that one of the Stevenage fans was treated by the first aid personnel.
His funniest moment has to be when Ken was doing the commentary with his fellow member Arthur. Arthur was doing the commentary and Ken decided to rest his feet on bar heater at the front of the commentary box. As soon as he did it fell straight onto Arthur’s foot, he felt it but carried on with the commentary despite the obvious pain
